About G D A F

GDAF was created in 1999 with the aim of developing and promoting digital arts in Gloucestershire. From the outset, the definition was deliberately broad, encompassing those who described themselves as digital artists as well as the process of producing artwork by digital means regardless of the background of the artist.
Another aim related to the use of digital forms as a means of extending the audience for interesting new work where access to gallery spaces was made difficult by the limits of transport in a rural county. In conjunction with GCC a successful application was made to South West Arts Regional Arts Lottery Programme (RALP) for a project which became the 'Artists Journey'.
